The volume reports on the experiences of Archea Associati in China through 20 illustrated projects of these latest years. The collection includes competitions, projects under construction and realized works and gives an overview on the design and research activity, ranging from masterplans for entire cities to housing and industrial complexes, to the interior design of single buildings.
Numerous images, the technical drawings and some text descriptions represent a fundamental instrument for the interpretation and the comprehension of the selected projects. A critical text by Zhenning Fang gives the opportunity to reflect on the peculiarities of comtemporary Chinese architecture and on its possible future eolutions.

Archea Associati is a network of more than 100 architects who work in the branches located in Florence, Milan, Rome, Beijing, San Paolo, Dubai and Teheran. The interests and research activities of the firm range from the landscape to the city, from construction to design and the projects vary from graphic design to publishing, to exhibitions and events.

Zhenning Fang graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 1982. He teaches at the school of architecture CAFA and acts as dean of review and curatorial research studio, graduate center of architecture, Peking University. Fang Zhenning is a world-renown art and architecture critic. He is the curator of the chinese national exhibition at the 13th international architecture biennale, in Venice, Italy.
